About Patches?

I haven't played in awhile and wondered if they ever fixed or improved the problem with items flying around you homes every time you entered or exited. I know it is a bit trivial. However this is part of the reason I became bored quickly with the game. It became pointless to collect stuff and display it in your house. When nothing would stay where you placed it. You just end up with a big house of emptiness and everything shoved into containers. This in part kills alot of the RPG factor of the elder scrolls I came to love. I don't want to just quest, kill, loot, sell. For that matter I could play Diablo 3. Sometimes I want to just check out my collection and read some of the books of lore.

you have to drop the items to the ground, go out of the house and into the house again. most stuff should stay in place after that. there are still a few pieces that do not (nettlebane, the emerald dragon claw...).

Thanks for the Tip, looking forward to playing again with Dawnguard added.

Just to elaborate on this. Drop the item on the ground, leave the house, come back, then move it to where you want without putting it back in your inventory (so you have to drop it again). It should stay in place.
