I was thinking today about how the lead vampire mentions that by blocking out the sun they would be going to war with normal people. If that was to play out it would be interesting what both civil war parties would do.

I would hope both parties would put aside their differences and try to beat the vampires. The Empire would be too weak by themselves so maybe the stormcloaks could use this as a way to get a deal were both sides form a joint empire.

I think that eventually the vampires would be destroyed. Having to beat the Dawnguard, Stormcloacks, Imperials, Campanions, Thieves Guild, Winterhold mages and then every bandit around would be way to much of a task.

Maybe the Stormcloacks could join with the vampires to overthrow the empire but could they trust them?

I doubt the vampires would align themselves with Nord and not with other humans. Humans are humans after all,

Besides.. I doubt Ulfric would want the sun blocked out any more then he wants Talos worship to remain banned in Skyrim.
