internet connection and black holes

Post » Tue Aug 07, 2012 7:16 pm

ok so lets say i have a handy mini event horizon thingy near my PC, BUT it only affects me so my PC is just beyond its time dilating effects (my hands can use keyboard and mouse normally) will my internetz seem faster to me??

what if its reversed?? will the internet signal be affected by the black hole??? or will the speed go up as I start to "slow down" ????

and what happens to water inside a black hole ?? does it get compressed ?? is that even possible ?? will the black hole just go over load if we throw a drop of water in it???

i think it would actual seem slower. based on how our satellites that are leaving the effects of our solar system's gravity have begun seeming to slow down even though they in fact are not.

water does get compressed in a black hole, but on an atomic level so at that point it would no longer be water, it will simply just be hydrogen and oxygen atoms being added into the collection of other atoms.

hmmm interesting but if I slow down won't my connection speed go up?? :P

well that is assuming being in the distortion of a black hole slows you down. there isn't really any hard data that would suggest that, at least not that i am aware of.

... actually based on hard data you would instantly be killed so you would never get a chance to perceive any distortion in the relation of time between you and the internet.
