Since it's creation more than three months ago there were more than a thousand threads started and accumulated over thirty thousand posts. Many interesting ideas were shared, different points of view argued about and many questions were asked. We make up the backbone of the TESO community. Currently we are the community. And it will be us that will first populate the new forums. And it will be us that greet all following community members.

And we should do so with open arms.

We should be prepared to answer the same questions again and again. We should aim at providing a welcoming atmosphere to everyone and a mature environment to discuss and argue about the game. But due to the nature of a MMO in pre-release and pre-beta most of our questions and suggestions remain unanswered, inevitably leading to frustration.

Recently I got more and more the feeling that we are about to reach a point, where it will be difficult to maintain a level head and stay reasonable and objective, especially when discussing opposing sides of a matter. I believe this is due to too many unknown facts and a growing feeling of being left out and not cared about. Right now the Mods do their best to stomp out the fires, while we all really should be sitting at the same campfire. Afterall we still have one thing in common and that is our love for the franchise and the hope for a good game. We have to focus on that instead of flaming each other. We need to build the community. And probably could use a little help with it.

Therefore I think it is time to increase activity from the community management side. More interaction is needed.

Be it just some contest with nothing else to win but bragging rights, sharing of your own personal thoughts about matters or just a general increase in participation. Play some silly forum games with us, as long as they're TES themed, it would keep us entertained. There are many ways of community building and I'm sure you know them better than me. I know, most question will still remain unanswered, but knowing that our ideas are considered and our concerns are heard will go a long way. And getting known better to each other will most certainly help with seeing the person behind the post and not just the argument.

Of course any new information you might be able to share with us would be more than welcome as well, especially about the new home for all of us. We all know we will have to move, but nobody knows when or how. Or if there might be anything we possibly could do to help with the transition.

Help us find the common ground again and the transition to and start of the new forums will go a lot smoother. And let us know how we can help you in return.

On a more personal note, please don't get me wrong. This is a great community. Especially when you consider it consists of even more different people with different mindsets and expectations than your usual MMO has. And I'm proud to be a part of it. But we can do better, nonetheless.

This forum is temporary. There will be official forums on the main site for TESO. I wouldn't expect any interaction with devs until then.

I'm not talking about the developers. I'm talking about the community guys and gals. It's a mistake to treat this as a temporary community with near to none interaction. It may be a temporary forum, but it IS TESO's community.

Communication between ZOS and the community will be pivotal for a healthy and stable relationship in ESO. As said by Pangscar though, we shouldn't really expect any drastic changes until we actually move to the official ESO forums. For now, this is merely a place for those who have an interest in the MMO to show their likes, dislikes, etc. and discuss ESO as a whole. I do agree that when that times comes ZOS will need an active and friendly community management so that everyone feels welcome and all believe their opinions are being heard.

I'm certainly not expecting the same level of communication that we might see on the new boards, nor am I demanding any drastic changes. All I'm asking for, since I certainly can see the need for it, is a little more presence and interaction. It'll make things easier in the long run for all of us.
