Just wanted to get some insight on lore in connection with what races and regions were most famous for smithing what types of armors and weapons. I have a sense of a few, such as Glass and Elven being of Aldmeri and Orcish and Ebony in Orc lore, and Ebony also with the Dark elves.

Also, does dragonbone armor have any connections with history? Or did they just add it because ... Well ... Dragons?

I think it has a basis with the Nords...possibly Akavir.

Edit: Glass armor smithing was first mastered by the Dunmer and was based on Elven armor.

My guess is that Ebony weapons were first created by the ancient nords.
Look at the ebony sword and greatsword, very simplistic design and the carvings also look like early nord work. plus you can find high leveled draugr wielding these weapons to back up the claim.
As for the armor, it seems more of an orc/dunmer work to me.

IIRC Elven isn't actually Altmeri, it's an Ayleid thing. Ayleids are to Cyrodiil what Dwarves are to the rest of the world.

I'm with saying ebony and steel are both Nordic things. Unless ebony is, you know... Redguard.

There was one piece of armour made of dragonbone in the past games, the Dragonbone Cuirass unless I'm misremembering, and I believe it was Imperial.

Well, there was a Dragonbone Cuirass in Morrowind.
