Hey guys, so I recently got myself a gaming PC. Now, that's left me pretty much broke and I want to buy a game that'll last a while on the PC. I'll be trading in Skyrim of course from my xbox 360 because I do want to get that for the PC and I'll be trading in Max Payne 3, regretfully because even though I loved the game I haven't played it for a while and I'm not really a fan of multiplayer, plus it's still listed as $60.

I predict I might get ~$50 for these trade-ins (I'll also be taking in an old broken controller) and I want to get a game that will keep my entertained at least until the next big Steam sale (the christmas one I think). I was thinking Skyrim because even though I got terribly bored of it after one playthrough on my 360, I've been browsing the mods and they seem like they add an INSANE amount of content.

I don't know, what do you guys think?

Medieval II: Total War - You can probably pick up the Gold edition for $20. That game has given me HOURS UPON HOURS UPON HOURS of replay value.

Skyrim - Still up there in price, especially if you want to pick up Dawnguard. Still worth it, IMO.

Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines - You can probably pick it up fairly cheap used, if you search. I paid $2 for mine at Goodwill.

There should be a small one for Labor Day

It's hard to go wrong with the Total War series.
I still play and mod Medieval, Rome and Medieval II on a weekly basis.

The replay factor of these Total War games is unmatched since many high quality mods create, quite literally, completely new games.

Edit: If you're wanting a game to last a while, I've played and modded Medieval:TW for over 10 years. I'd call that longevity.

Tribes: Ascend is free to play. I'm having a lot of fun with that, can't hurt to give it a go.

Speaking of Tribes: Ascend, I played the Beta, but was just below level 10 when it was released, so I didn't get my XP bonus.

OT:

Games like the Vampire - The Masquerade: Bloodlines and the Total War games have already been suggested, as have Mount and Blade: Warband.
I'd like to add Heroes of Might and Magic III into there, you could probably get it dirt cheap. Also, try Fallout: New Vegas. Incredible how much content Obsidian stuffed that game with.
And of course, there's the TES games and Fallout 3.

If you have good internet look for Guild Wars 2.. It's looking like a great MMO..

Morrowind has lasted me 8 eight years so far. Don't know any more re-playable game.
