At random points during my skyrim experience the game will completely freeze requiring me to ctrl+alt+del and end the process. This happens very frequently about every 1-2 minutes. I have just gone through all of my mods and deleted 90% of them. Even on a new game the error persists. Below I have compiled a list of my currently installed mods and expansions for Skyrim.

I have noticed that this freeze will happen when I cross bridges so I have simply given up on trusting bridges. Though it does not only occur when crossing bridges, they always force this to happen.

If you are still experiencing this issue after deactivating all your mods and Dawnguard and then starting a brand new character, the only other thing I can think of to try is verify integrity of local cache or reinstall the game.

Okay I verified integrity of local cache and i've played for 15 minutes without a crash. So far so good

This is hardly surprising given that the Dawnguard.esm file has a ton of deleted records in it. BAD practice all around. I get this too, though not nearly as regularly as some. I doubt it's a video driver issue as I've got an AMD 6970.

I'm also getting this a lot.. But only when I'm fast traveling or entering/leaving somewhere.

I will try to verify the cache and I'll post here if it fix it.

Try removing Crimson Tide, it causes a crapton of papyrus errors and was also the cause of all my skyrim CTD's.

This is what I am getting also, I just commented on another post about this same topic, i've reinstalled my Skyrim and Steam as well as my mods, I'm on my third attempt at a fresh new save and new character but it doesn't matter I can't even make it through helgen at this point

Well, in my case it is a lot less severe, I guess.

I can play for sometime (20 or 30 minutes at best) before getting this. Sometimes I get it as early as 2 minutes in the game, sometimes a little later.




Now that you mentioned this, I realized I might be having this problem because of a MOD. I do not use Crimson Tide, but I'm using Enhanced Blood Textures, which basically has the same goal of Crimson Tide (better blood).

I'll try disabling it as well, as soon as I'm home today.

I don't have Dawnguard yet, but I recently experienced frequent freezing problems with the Catalyst 12.7 Beta driver, which stopped after I rolled back to 12.6.
