About the next Elder Scrolls

Post » Fri Aug 10, 2012 6:23 am

I just seen a topic and it got me thinking. What will the next ES be.

With game companies keen to push out games every year I think it might be a Morrowind remake. Bethesda already showed by giving Xbox 1 month exclusive to dlc, that they are moving away from the consumer and more towards milking games for every penny, like a company should.

With the amount of areas, such as caves, house interiors etc, that are reused in games I think it would only take about a year from start to finish to release a Morrowind remake. I wouldn't even mind if Skyrim textures were used.

All of the unused regions of Tamriel have difficulties in design like forests, swamps and lakes. I would assume Bethesda will wait until next gen consoles for the next ES so it won't have Skyrim style flaws. I hope it will be pc exclusive but being realistic it won't be.

Anyway I will stop before I'm 30 mins into this. Opinions?

I highly doubt it would be a remake of Morrowind. My guess is it will take us to Elswyr or Orsinium.

Bethesba already showed by giving Xbox 1 month exclusive to dlc...

Do you know ANYTHING about why that is so? Microsoft made a deal, not with Bethesda, but with Sony and other console builders, that all DLC will be released for xbox about a month earlier.

Dont blame Bethesda for microsoft's deal. this deal is also 2 years old, at the LEAST! DLC has been released for xbox on all games for about 2 years now. It was mostly noticed with Black Ops.

So how about you dont point fingers at Bethesda for "milking money" and "favoring Microsoft". It wasnt there [censored] choice. The only way they could of prevented it, was make Skyrim not for xbox.

First off, those two quotes are wrong.
Secondly, That is complete bull, where the hell did you hear that crap? Bethesda made a deal with Microsoft. That is widely noted, public knowledge. Loads of games have had dlc released at the same time, or before Xbox. FIFA, Battlefield, Gotham City Impostors, Dead Island, I could go on all day.
Please look this up because somebody is making a fool out of you.

Don't blame anyone for the deal. Blaming one company but not the other would be hypocritical as all the companies do this. Sony also signs deals with game developers which grants them exclusive rights to full games, and not just temporarily either. It's basic business 101 and it's just companies trying to garner more consumers for their product. Microsoft nor Bethesda are the first to do this, and they definitely will not be the last. It happens all the time, everyone does it and honestly this finger pointing has gotten really really old.

How 'bout we get back on topic?

I personally would really like to see The Elder Scrolls VI take us to Elswyr!

first off, i didnt do a single quote.

second, it is not bull. If you wanna complain about Skyrim getting dlc for xbox first, look back. Call of Duty for xbox got dlc first. Same with Battlefield. Forza, etc. There might be a few games that probobly bribed Microsoft into letting them release DLC for all platforms at the same time, but 90% of the multiplatform games will get DLC for xbox first.

I think that if they wait until the next gen consoles or go pc exclusive they should go to a different continent, maybe go a few eras into the future so all the continents have found each other.
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is I hope that they don't make a new ES before next gen consoles or they should go pc only, but I doubt that will happen. I would love to see Morrowind 2.0 as a filler until then.

You did 2 quotes "milking money" and "favouring Microsoft".
[censored] Cod
Battlefield did not get dlc early on Xbox, it actually came out a week early on ps3
This 'deal' between Microsoft and other platforms did not happen. Microsoft did a deal with Activision for Cod and a deal with Bethesda for Skyrim, both of these have been confirmed by both parties.
I have no clue where you're getting your facts from but they are wrong. Do you honestly think other platforms will handicap themselves like that, there is no way Microsoft could afford to pay what that would cost.
Go back to your source and double check it because you are 100% wrong.

Oh I see what your saying. I think the next-gen consoles are actually set for release next year so I'm guessing the next TES will be on next-gen consoles.

1. Microsoft is owned by the richest man alive.

2. People pay Microsoft a monthly fee just to play online.

now try telling me Microsoft has less money than the other companies and cant afford a deal with them.

Morrowind remake? Would be nice. But I don't see it happening. I would like the next ES to happen in either Valenwood or Black Marsh though.

You misunderstood me. For the amount it would cost Microsoft to buy this deal there would be no space for profit.
I didn't once say they have less money then the other companies.
