Different internet, same PC.

Hi, I was going to post this in the community tech thread but it is closed and there doesn't seem to be another one yet.
Basically, I was wondering if I could have two different internet connections/providers on the same PC.

I'm going to a friend's house and I want to bring my PC over to her but she has a different internet provider. Also, she uses a modem whilst, in my house, I have a router with a cable.

Can I go over and just set the internet up over there and then put it back to normal when I get home?
Thank you :).

Yes, you can.
I have three different networks in my house. I can switch between them whenever I want, between any different computer I want.

Internet providers means nothing. Your computer is looking for a network, it doesn't care/notice who is providing it.

If for some reason you don't have wireless capability on your computer, take your router ether cord with you, and you can plug it in to your friends modem.

edit: fixed some typos.

So it's just a matter of going over and setting up her internet on my PC, and then I change back to my internet when I get home?
Will it do anything to steam?
Thanks.

Yes. It's very simple. Her internet will "see" your computer and you can just jump on it.
It will probably have a password on it, so that strangers can't steal her connection, but she just has to tell you the password. ;)
And when you get home, your computer will remember to use your internet. You might have to remind to use your network, but it usually does it automatically.
