Future ad-ons for Roleplaying?

Post » Fri Aug 10, 2012 5:51 pm

Thought it would be fun to just come up with a list of small or big features to help with immersion (for console ;_;)

-when you sleep it shows the animation of you getting into the bed.
-when you wait you sometimes sit
-Ability to own a shop
-smithy
-Potions
-lumbermill
-option to make days and nights longer
-eat and drink animation

Ability to take your spouse on trips in addition to your follower.

The need to eat and drink water regularly.

-smithy
-Potions
-lumbermill

What exactly do you mean by these three? Skyrim already has Smithing, potion making, and lumber mills.

An improvement for 3rd person players I guess, but what about 1st person players? The last thing I want is another in-game situation where i'm thrown into 3rd person.
-when you wait you sometimes sit
No. I don't like the idea of things like that just happening automatically. If I want my character to sit on a chair or crouch down, they'll sit on a chair or crouch down. Otherwise they should stand.
-Ability to own a shop
I like the idea of creating your own shop to sell goods you've either collected or bought from NPCs for a cheaper price, but not so much the idea of buying already existing shops. The problem with the latter is it's so easy to get rich quickly in TES games that every player will just end up buying every shop in the game.
-smithy

Already in the game, but very little to it
-option to make days and nights longer
Already possibile with the PC version. You can make days last 24 real world hours if you wanted to... though i'm not sure why anyone would, given how tiny the gameworld is.
-eat and drink animation
Again, it's a nice touch for 3rd person players, but potentially worsens the game for 1st person players if the devs end up thinking "this looks so good in 3rd person that we're going to force 1st person players to see it"

He means he wants to be able to own an alchemist shop, smithy, lumber mill, etc.

I already see enough ads on YouTube. I don't want them polluting Skyrim.

On a slightly more serious note, some of that stuff is already in the game. And the animations would be good for 3rd person players, but probably not so good for 1st person players.

I say the need for consuming of delicious food and the drinking of water. Cheese would be absolutely essential for playing Sheogorath, but you'd need the ability to skip rope with a poor mortal's entrails to make it more realistic.

What would I like to see added for roleplaying purposes? Let's see here...

1. More dialogue options with followers and spouses.
2. Scenic carriage rides (I know there's a mod for that and I have it... but the roleplayers on the consoles are missing out on this)
3. Child adoption and/or the ability to marry single parents (such as Carlotta in Whiterun and Tormir in Darkwater Crossing) and allow their children move in with you
4. (Optional / toggle on or off in Game Settings) talking player characters that contains generic greetings and goodbyes
5. (Optional / toggle on or off in Game Settings) 1st and/or 3rd person actor animations such as what the NPC's display... cause I'm tired of standing around emotionless

... I have more ideas, but I decided to just post a small list.

I would just like to be able to grab and move things around more easily so I can place things in my houses without such difficulty. I grab something from the top, but since it's a bottom heavy item, it flips right over, and it's practically impossible to get it right-side-up again. And then there's the fact that a if you accidentally touch a gem, which barely weighs anything, against what looks like a 10 lb statuette, it knocks the thing over lol. Moving things around is just so awkward. I just want to decorate my house! (Wow, I'm a geek)

Actual quest from NPC's. Even if it is a quick go here and get this quest from the people of Skyrim to gain some kind of allegiance with the people of Skyrim. Would be nice to do a couple of quest for the guards of Whiterun then later on after you have done so many there are random attacks on you and a group of guards comes out of nowhere to help you out. It would make me feel like the time I have spent in Whiterun hold clearing out bandits from forts and caves was done for a reason.

I want to be able to join the guards, then standing on a random corner, telling every wanderer and traveller that its been too long since we had a good bandit raid. Or some kind words about lollygagging and sweetrolls. Or that I used to be and adventuter like you, but ... Just kidding.

By the way, when it comes to the allegiance and faction relations, Fallout New Vegas should be the role model for developers. Its clear Skyrim is more linear in storyline and open at every other aspect at the same time, but it would be better if you just can't be everybodys favourite demi-god with full of titles, but instead you have to pick sides in most significant questions.

I would like the option to sit on a tree stump or rock or ledge...

player built houses ( which may come in one of the next DLC's)

pc to be able to play a musical instrument by the end of the Bards quests...singing may be out.. but at least play ( optional 1st or 3rd person)

to be able to tell your horse to "stay" at a stables, buy a horse that your follower will ride.

Pay for and see your follower get in the carrige, I really hate thinking they are running behind!

Oh and lot's more, but I'll keep it short!

quiet with you first person talk sheesh lol
but in first person i can see it happen
in first person going to sleep it would show you getting on the bed pulling the cover over you and bam screen goes blank
and for eating it would show a mug or bread or whatever it is you want to eat
