Can't hear people's voices.

Post » Sat Aug 11, 2012 3:33 am

I was playing last night and saved it after speaking with Maven in Riften and everything was fine.

This morning I load the game up and I've been playing for an hour now and still te voices haven't come back. I can't hear my own either like when I get hit or use a shout.
I've tried reloading and messing with audio setting but nothing works, I don't want to continue in case I have to use a previous save or something.

This happened to anyone else and do you know what it is?

Are you playing on PC and using any mods? If so try making a clean save and disabling all mods and see what happens.

Is it for all of your characters or just one? Try reverting to a previous save or try starting a new character to see if the problem is still there.

This, if it still happens on a brand new character you might want to try deleting all updates to the game and then re-installing.

Ok thanks you everyone i got It working now.
I only lost a hours play as I went back to an old save. But after the voices started to work I left riften and it froze. I haven't had a freeze for like 40-50 hours. So I reloaded and now everything is SUPER delayed. Sounds will start after I've already killed someone, opening books takes forever and returning to the game from menu.
It seems to be catching up now, might be my Xbox too as its had a hard life and struggling to cope.
But yeah all good again and thanks again for help :)

That Save is starting to Corrupt, you may have to go back even earlier.

Turn off all the Autosave features, that can help with this issue.

Yeah, turning off autosave works wonders for game stability. A save file that gets overwritten hundreds of times is bound to become corrupt.
