I have changed the default Left-Right attack buttons from L1 and R1 to L2 and R2. From the item menu screen L2 and R2 will not select anything (spells weapons etc) but instead L1R1 do. In the quick favorites menu, however L2R2 DO allow for selection/assignment but L1R1 do not.
