Improved weapons in loots

Post » Sun Aug 12, 2012 1:25 pm

Another thing that Bethesda should add to the game: Improved weapons in loots. In my opinion this would make looting more fun by making it possible to find weapons stronger than yours.

Some will argue that this will make smithing redundant. It can be avoided by addinf weapons up to flawless. This way one can still use smithing for epic and legendary weapons.

What do YOU think?

Kinda like the item system that's used in Morrowind?

There are weapon types like Fine, Superior, Exquisite, Flawless, Epic and Legendary. As far as I know you can only have these improved weapons through smithing. If improved weapons are added, looting could be more fun.

In the vanilla game if you find a sword stronger than the other type you never get back to the previous one because it is always worse than your weapon. If improved weapons are added, you can find flawless type of that weapon and it can be stronger than yours. (Sorry for the bad English, I'm not from an English speaking country, I hope I could tell what I wanted to)

Would add a greater variety to looting. I don't see why it's not like that.

Thank smithing for this problem. One major reason why i prefer oblivion then skyrim. I actually have to find my weapons instead of sitting there crafting more like an MMO style of play if you ask me.

Draugr have to eat something to get fit. It's how they become Death Over Divine God Destroyer Lords.

Oh God. That's so true that it's sad. I seem to have more trouble trying to kill those Deathlord types than I do with the Dragon Priests. To me they are the most god like enemies in the game.

If you have read "Amongst the Draugr" something like having a fresh bread in a tomb isn't so bad - it's baked by the draugr (maybe with bonemeal and dust instead of grain but still). But it is weird that they are having fresh apples and tomatoes in tombs. And it is weird that some of the ancient Nords who are resting with their chief Ysgramor in the same tomb have Studded Imperial armor in their inventory and Septims in their pocket.
