I just started my 4 character today, he is an Imperial who will focus on 1 handed, Smitching and Heavey armour.
My second highest stat is Smitching, it's 34 because I have put time into raising it. My 3rd highest is Heavey armour at 27 and it has just grown naturally.
My highest is one handed at 53! I have not done anything special to raise it, no training or no books. I have never had any stat grow that fast. I even only use one sword and one sheld at a time. I see no reason why it grows so fast compared to other perks.

..It grows fast because your constantly using it. Even faster if you have the warrior's stone.

Combat skills such as One Handed actually raise incredibly slow. Do you have any fortify one handed enchantments on yourself?

Maybe the OP should invest some time into the speech skill. That way the one handed skill wouldn't be used so much

I know what you mean. Out of all my other stats, my one handed is the most increasing one. I think it's about time for me to start working on my speech skills.

Become Spellsword and use magic in your other hand. Less use of your one-handed weapon.

I wish my nightblade had that problem. lol
