Stormcloaks are in the right

Post » Mon Aug 13, 2012 1:23 pm

I'm playing through the civil war for the 3rd time but this time as the imperials.
I have great sympathy for the stormcloaks cause. I don't like how the worship of talos has been banned. Under no conditions should the empire have agreed to this, it shows weekness and if the empire has weekness they must be overthrown, especially in times were dragons have returned and vampires are attempting to take over.
I don't like the leadership of Ulfric but I would prefer him being in charge rather then a talmir run empire

On the one hand, I approve of religious freedom in the province.

Then again, racism is another issue...

It's also odd how neither side care about dragons or the end of the world. One would think that would be more than enough to convince them to let go of their excuses and fight together.

There is a thread debating this directly below this one: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1403164-stormcloaks-or-imperials/

There is no "right side". Both sides are equally flawed. It's really just choosing two lesser evils.

So you would much rather another long and bloody war for a god, people continued to secretly worship until Ulfric made a big deal about it?

I've extended my drinking game: every time I hear 'stormcloaks r racist lul' I take a shot.

They're not.

A god that just happens to be holding the world together, without whom it would fade into non-existence? Yes.

I bet this thread will result in every forum member agreeing that one side is the right one to side with.

A god people continued to secretly worship. If Talos holds the world's existence together, how did it sustain itself before Talos?

True, although it's actually hard to say if the Stormcloaks are racist: there's certainly some in Windhelm who are, but Ulfric seems merely indifferent to their plight rather than taking a firm stance on the situation.
