So this is my last ditch effort after messing with the console and uninstalling all mods. I'm down to a vanilla installation of Dawnguard and Skyrim, both bought through Steam.

My computer runs Skyrim with room to spare, have never had any major glitches before, besides the stray map marker pointing west instead of east. Since I've installed Dawnguard, most of the vampires and Dawnguard will randomly default to a basic model position (hands slight out to the side, staring straight ahead). Sereana (sp?) does this frequently in conversations. I haven't seen any non-Dawnguard characters do this.

The biggest problem is with Touching the Sky. When attempting to use the Initiate's Ewer on the fountains, it goes into third person, then first, and my character can't move. The game isn't frozen, I can still load the tab menu and main menu, my character just can't move or draw a weapon.

I was able to get the first ewer filled via console, but can't do the other four bits. At this point, I'd be OK with a console workaround just so I could continue on with my game.

Any ideas?
