Land Of Elsweyr

Hey everyone,

Like many of you I enjoy playing The Elder Scrolls. I started myself with Oblivion on PS3. Since then I enjoy learning more about everything regarding Elder Scrolls lore. But I was always more interested in one specific race, The Khajiit and there homeland of Elsweyr.

Now from what I understand, many homelands of the various races have already had a game. Hammerfell (Redguards), Orsinium (Orcs), High Rock (Brettons) Morrowind (Dark Elves), Cyrodill (Imperials) and now Skyrim (Nords). So that leaves us with High Elves (Summerset Isles), Bosmer (Valenwood), Khajiit (Elsweyr) and lastly the Argonians (Black Marsh).

Now if the next Elder Scrolls would take place in let's say Elsweyr, I wanted to know how it could look like, so I took some pictures of the internet to have an idea.

According to information on Elsweyr, The Khajiit are ruled by a "Mane". A spiritual leader of the Khajiit, who, in ancient times, remained neutral in conflicts. He or she is also different in looks but is not a different breed of Khajiit. This could be a possible goal when the Elder Scrolls would go to Elsweyr.

Regarding the various place in Elweyr, I learned that there are many badlands and dry plains in the North, in the South however there are more fertile areas like jungles and rainforests.

Known towns or cities include Riverhold, a town built along a waterfall going down a rather steep hill into a water basin below. The town of Dune, another hill based town in the harsh Anequine dessert. Orcrest, a town in the south populated by Orcs. And lastly Senchal, the biggest sea port in Tamriel. Dwemer ruins can also be found in the land of Elsweyr.

Famous products of Elsweyr include Moon Sugar and Skooma. Both illegal products are sold mainly by Khajiit caravan traders.

And to conclude, there is a type of Lycanthrope existant on Tamriel, both in Black Marsh, The Imperial Province and the "wetter parts of Elsweyr" called Werelions.

For me personally, Elsweyr has a great potential to make an wonderfull Elder Scrolls game. And I hope we can explore it in the next Elder Scrolls. Now would you like to see it or would you rather explore a different land?

Elsweyr is definitely one of my favorit "next game locations" that and Hammerfell. we haven't really seen any desert in the newer elder scrolls titles, so it's somewhat an unexplored idea.
anyway, this topic belongs in the elder scrolls general discussion, more precisely in this thread http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1392690-tes-vi-location-and-setting-official-speculation-thread-2/

Elsweyr sounds interesting. The location i would like to see, but probably won't happen, would be all of high rock and hammerfell together in one game, with ship sailing, piracy and trading important gameplay aspects

If you're on PC there's a mod called Moonpath to Elsweyr. Its still a work in progress but its a rather well done mod and gives a good sense of what a game set in elsweyr could look like.

Ok thanks, didn't know there was already a topic about it. If someone can move it, that would be great ;)

I seen a video of it on YouTube. I like how it has the different groups of Khajiit.

I'd LOVE Elsweyr. But I think adding Valenwood and Alinor to it would make more sense.
I mean, Elsweyr isnt as big as Skyrim at all, so a lot of people would see the contrast. Plus, with the Aldmeri controlling Elsweyr and Valenwood, it could be made into a sort of uprising plot, where the Khajiit and Bosmer overthrow the Thalmor oppressors.
Although sadly, a game based in a land of Cat people wouldnt sell quite as well as the land of the Nords, as we all know Bethesda have started to cater for the "wider audience".
