Hows smithing going for you?

Post » Wed Aug 15, 2012 7:33 am

oh god... with
4x 29% fortify smithing gear
5x 29% fortify alchemy gear
147% fortify smithing potion

i just made a dragonbone warhammer worth 25,650 @_@

As overpowered as that sounds, i don't do that restoration loop. All i do is get 100 in enchanting and alchemy.

I improve my weapons with smithing, but I am not one for exploiting.

Off topic, if i'd known that line would follow me around the forums via a quote on people signitures, i'd have been more careful how i phrased it. still makes me chuckle every time i see it though.
On topic, for every character that relies on armor or a weapon smithing is their bestest best friend in the whole wide world. At the very least I tend to grab arcane blacksmith if nothing else. I never abuse the resto loop, as i can get Dawnbreaker to crank out 140 damage without it.

Really, I was quite flattered when someone put my quote in their signature.

ya i like smithing, not for making god weapons (thats what enchantments are for lol). On warrior characters i use dwarven smithing to bring in the cash at mid levels. Right now my character is hitting the armor cap in dawngaurd armor so i'm happy

Same here. I tried wearing armor, gauntlets, a ring and a necklace all enchanted to fortify smithing and the damage from weapons and protection from armor was so high it was ridiculous. It's obviously some sort of exploit so I don't use enchantments when smithing anymore.

I do like smithing though. It's a fun way to earn extra income.

Eh. I might use the enchanted gear if I'm using iron weapons and armor for the whole game. Smithing makes lower quality(but more suited for rping) gear viable.

Best I can do on my current character is 53 Smithing. Did the MQ, the CW and just wrapped up Dawnguard on Expert and am currently 30th level. I'd say any further development of smithing is just over powered for me. Kinda svcks the fun right out of the game, IMO.

ruins the game imo, Why would anyone want to dungeon for a new weapon if they can just mine and craft there own sword that outclasses any type of artifact or weapon. You can play the game without but hardmode becomes so tedious without it.

I know that feeling, found an enchanted Daedric Hammer off a dragon. Very expensive so I just keep it around for looks.
