I think we need more non-encounter, NAMED NPC's travelling between holds, having parties every weekend, going to different inns, closing shop while they visit family etc. throughout the game's timeline.
In other words: we need NPC's to have more complex schedules.
I think this is one of the biggest improvements required to be seen in DLC, as AI and NPC's is a bit woefully short sighted atm.
I love skyrim, but richer NPC's would be way more fun.
Hi Harley, i agree with you. I think it probably has something to do with the game engine. Are you on console or PC? If you are on PC, there are some really good mods that add what you are asking for.
No, we don't need, you'd like them. Big difference.
NPC schedules have taken a step down from Oblivion. NPCs no longer travel to visit friends/relatives in other cities, no longer spend time looking in various shops and are generall less dynamic. They're better in terms of inns, however - most NPCs will go to the local inn in the evening, and chat with friends there.
I guess it would be nice to have more complex schedules, but I certainly wouldn't lose sleep if it didn't happen.

This was what I read. And if you're going to react like that every time someone disagrees with you, I think I'm done with this thread.
Maybe you should read the whole thread instead of one little bit and then take it out of context?, I was just translating my thoughts into a succinct tl:dr. If you are going to have the gumption to try and undermine someone's OP by insinuating there is some kind of holier than thou attitude towards the rest of the forumites, then you have to face facts when you get called out for not paying attention.

Hello again!
Well, it looks a bit odd whenever I sneak into a dungeon and find NPCs just standing there, not reading, sleeping, having a drink or anything, just standing there like stunned Forest Gumps. It surprises me the current implementation is a step down from Oblvion. That is intringuing.
