You're probably thinking of the quantum oscillator.

No, but seriously, are you serious? Boost what kind of performance?

Different parts affect different functions, so one part won't make the whole PC better. Like if you install a super fast CPU but you have a crap graphics card you won't play games any better.

Narmy has it.

OP: What are you trying to do? Are you talking about overclocking the CPU?

I remember it being listed on a thread here about a month ago. But for tyhe life of me I cannot remember what the part was called is there a part that allows you to overclock the CPU? Forgive me I am looking into building a PC and I just want a monster rig but I am not very computer savvy really bare with me.

Its not a CPU from what I understand its that makes your PC run smoother from what I remember.

You should probably check the http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1402863-the-community-tech-thread-no-118/.

All you need to overclock a CPU is the CPU and the motherboard you plug everything into (and all the other regular parts obviously). As the PC boots up, go into the BIOS and play around with the CPU clock and multiplier. If you don't know what any of that means, please don't overclock.
