I brought the shoes i was going to buy and had gone through the transaction up to the point in which they asked me for my phone number and email adress. I said never mind and left the shoes there. I sure if i stayed and insisted i pay for the shoes without giving that information away the cashier would have accommodated me.
ive come to this point because i gave said information away to the dentist office i got some work done at, and since then they have been bugging me. I could tell them to stop, but i still do set appointments from time to time so its practical that i get reminders. but its damn annoying at any other time when they are trying to get me to schedule extra work from over the phone.
the second example would be related to my Email's home page and its links. Sometimes there will be news stories that look interesting to me and i'll give the article a click. Now i know that most of these articles are common knowledge pieces that are wrote for the desperate hope of gaining traffic revenue. However i don't keep up with the mainstream information flow any more so occasionally i'll check out one of the articles.
HOWEVER, if the article turns out to be nothing but a headline and an embedded video, i close the page. those videos always have long ads and the content generally ends up being some cheap production made by the email provider who pay some lame ass chuckle hut comedians talk about the story.
