I think with the way that they have been writing the empire losing more and more spots, I think the empire is going to die, at least as we know it now. The empire, will just be Cyrodill, essentially, I think. Since there is no longer a need for the dragonfires, and with the Thalmor around, I think that having the area's go along the lines of alliances vs an empire will add a lot more of a dynamic.

Bethesda isn't going to make one side better than the other, because there is no right side, it's all on the player's personal views. The canon will most likely give favor to both sides some how, in the end.

I assume they will have another "Warp of the West" or "The Miracle of Peace." How? I have no clue, seeing as in Daggerfall, you entered the Aetherius which caused 6 different realities to happen at once. But, if they are going forward with the storyline, it'll be something like that, or perhaps an eventual revolt that the Empire couldn't stop happening sometime in the 4th Era, making sure to leave out a date just so we don't know which one it was.

My Dovahkiin, realising Skyrim was filled with nothing but jerk asses and whiners, led an army of Skeevers two hundred million strong to push out the Legion and the Stormcloaks, turning Skyrim into Skeevrim, forcing all of its humanoid plebeian masses to make offerings of cheese. Meanwhile, I rule in Solitude as their Mouse God. ALL GLORY TO SKEEVAHKIIN.

Oh, did you say Canon? I thought you said Fanon. I don't know what Bethesda will do as Canon.

That would be a terrible resolution. They just need to pick a side for canon and stick with it.

No more damn "All possibilities occurred" cop outs.

^^ This exactly! I basically look at it as there's no black or white, just shades of grey.

Also, I was little caught off-guard by this thread because I thought it was made by MetalGod seeing as how the OP has his former avatar picture. What's going on here? :ermm:

To me they should pick which ever side that got picked the most. Or which ever side works the best with the canon they are planning. Which is probably the best choose.

All depends on if they want to 86 talos. They nuked vivec. So maybe the empire wins. Not that it is really the same empire as earlier anyways. It had already fell mostly apart and pulled back mostly together again for the books. Of course there is more than one plot line in the game leading to the empire falling apart again.

Well, polls generally indicate Imperial Legion, but those in favour of the Stormcloaks seem more vocal.

There's an immense difference between the American Revolution and the Stormcloak Rebellion. Namely, the American Revolution was between two nations on the opposite sides of an ocean, while Skyrim borders Cyrodiil.
