some of the best instrumentals you've ever heard?

Post » Thu Aug 16, 2012 11:13 am

like the title says, are you a producer junkie like me? i have a youtube account and all im subbed to is music (beat) producers. i can honestly say, even if you dont like rap/hip hop/pop/electronic music as the artists portray, the beats are sometimes so damn beautiful. i often just listen and soak it all in.

ill share one of my favs from the up-and-coming bay area producer, clams casino. this guy literally is gifted from the heavens.

J Dilla's "Donuts", The Avalanches' "Since I Left You", and anything instrumental by Just Plain Ant.

They're not strictly instrumental, but they mostly use sampling.

I can't remember a really awesome one that was on my iPod before iTunes DRM kicked in after I got a laptop... Damn program hates people getting multiple computers.

Hocico has so many awesome ones. I think so, anyways.

Thanks, I like that one.

I like instrumentals from games, TV/films, anime, as well as folk/classical/old-world.... I have a feeling that isn't what the thread is generally intended for. But yes, I do love instrumental music, even some of the "sampled" stuff people are doing today.
One of my anime faves is the brief http://youtu.be/9ccp09CPWvU from Slayers:Next, but the list of non-vocal music that I listen to on repeat for hours at a time would be very long.
Oh yeah....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Oob9spB25U Andy Summers/Robert Fripp. Love that album. They had weird videos tho.

Lots of classical music, obviously. But that's probably understood.

Otherwise, I mostly listen to metal. The Chasm have a lot of great instrumental tracks. eg. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ttczYKExbg

[Or did this not mean instrumentals, in the same way that R'n'B doesn't have aught to do with rhythm'n'blues anymore?]
