Livestream Question

Post » Sat Aug 18, 2012 2:53 pm

Wanted to get my fellow forum goers opinion about artists that "livestream" their work. Is this a type of shameless self-promotion? Or is it an artist trying to connect with their audience that watches their stuff? Only reason I ask is that there are several artists I follow on DA. Lately, more and more of them seem to be posting up journal entries to say they are doing livestreams.

I do not mind it. In fact, I like when they do livestreams because you sometimes can pick up a trick or two that you could use later in. They also use it to connect with their audience. I was in one and the artist pvssyd with the audience for suggestions as to what to add. Some use it to connect, some use it as a teaching tool, and it is a bit of shameless advertising too.
