Staves and related magic skills

Post » Sun Aug 19, 2012 1:05 pm

I just finished searching the wiki's and a couple of other forums involving topics on staves and i cannot find information on what effects them (if anything) besides the reduced casting cost spells. Do the perks such as Augmented element affect staves using their respective element? and do alteration perks such as the one that improves the duration of Alt. spells inscrease the duration of a staff of paralysis? Illusion perks working on staves? especially quiet casting?

Staffs cast the spell as if you casted it only with the staffs magic. So if your perks effect the spell they effect the staff spell. The same applies to scrolls.

If you have the perk for prolonged summoning atronach staffs and Saguin's Rose will be 120 seconds. Staffs of Fireball will do 60 damage if you have augmented flamesx2. If you have the necromancy perks anything raised with raise undead scrolls and staffs will have 120 second durations. Paralyze is a duration so it should work longer.

The things I'm not sure about is illusion spells effecting higher level enemies & undead/constructs/deadra, and undead having 100 more health and summons being more powerful due to perks. I imagine they are. Also not sure on quite casting. If one didn't work I would think that would be it since the staff is casting the spell not you.

Also not sure if necromage effects it.... meaning that spells would do more damage to undead, and summoning scrolls/spells would have even longer durations.

Staves is plural for staff.

It can be said both ways. Neither are incorrect.
