[Relz] Sword of Sigdan

Post » Mon Aug 20, 2012 8:04 pm

This summer I took a break from my work on Fallout (which had stalled anyway) to begin toying with Papyrus. The end result was a small quest plugin geared for upper-level players. It's tiny compared to past work, but I think some players will appreciate the challenge it delivers.

Here's the Nexus link: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/22722

The "official" description from my website:

"Sword of Sigdan is a small, standalone plugin for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim which features a single questline.

Through reading and/or exploration the player will uncover the story of Sigdan, a mythical swordsman from a bygone era . With the prospect of reward and adventure, the player can venture to enter Sigdan's tomb, where he/she will uncover a tale of greed, perfidy, and murder, all while combating the dangerous denizens of the tomb.

Sword of Sigdan is a compact quest mod designed to offer new opportunities in exploration, combat, and roleplaying for high-level players."

I hope ya'll enjoy it!

It'll be awhile til i can tackle this full on with my newly created character but maybe i'll sneak in and around a bit before turning tail and running to the exit. Unless to my horror i suddenly find myself trapped in a haunting tomb which sings with melodic lighting a song of pure emotion to my minds eye til Death's grip snaps my neck!!!

Love the screenshots. For a small dungeon it sure does have alot of character oozing with raw 1970s fantasy magazine architecture musculature.

Thanks for the nightmare journey to be Some Guy :cake:

Hellbishop,

All the enemies are leveled, but the named bosses utilize perks that make them distinctly tougher (health regen buffs, damage buffs, etc.). I considered just rounding out the dungeon with generic bosses (as it started out of the CK tutorial - I wasn't even sure it would be a finished mod), but after experimenting with badass foes I found the challenge too fun to leave out. Besides, with mods like "Deadly Dragons" gaining popularity, I assumed players would want to face something that has the power to kick their teeth in for a change. I certainly enjoyed playing it, particularly the final boss.

I can't vouch for the haunting tomb, per se, but there is an abyss which eclipses anything I've played in Skyrim thus far. You could probably belt out several verses during the fall, if you so desire.

Thanks for the feedback regarding the screenshots - it's always tricky flailing around in 3rd person without the menu, haphazardly mashing PrtScn before getting maimed (hence the "Dova Dead" shot).

1970's fantasy? That is high praise indeed! I only hope my humble plugin lives up to such expectations! (no sarcasm - I love that kind of stuff).

Hopefully it won't be a *total* nightmare
