Need Help with recording Let's Plays

I need some help in getting setup to do my first LP. I am a huge Elder Scrolls fan and want to do an LP. I have always played on a PS3 and tried the dazzle but I play in HDMI and the dazzle does not support that input. I tried to split the HDMI cable with an HDMI cable and one that is an HDMI to 3 RCA cable but the dazzle would not read it. I have another cord coming from Hong Kong before I totally dismiss that idea. I tried to play in standard SCART output, but it looks terrible on my screen and ok on the recording from the dazzle, plus the audio is separate and not that great (my voice over).

So that being said, I got a computer from work that is ok and I downloaded Morrowind GOTY Edition and Oblivion Deluxe Edition from Steam. The computer cannot support Skyrim yet. Need to upgrade the video/graphics card first. Even Oblivion runs only on Medium and that doesn't look good either. So once I can save up some $$$ I will be updating that.

That brings me to where I am now and what help I need. I want to do an LP for Morrowind but I have tried Camtasia Studio, Microsoft Expression, SnagIt and FRAPS. All these capture applications have failed in recording good quality videos and all have slowed my game down to an unplayable rate. The videos are choppy and look terrible. FRAPS was weird. I did download it and tried to use it but the free trial I got said I could only record 30 second clips and when I did, I did not know where they were being stored.

Can anyone help me with a good capture application and/or help me with FRAPS? Also, what settings do I use both on my display on my monitor and the capture device?

Also, can anyone suggest a good video/graphics card thatis relatively inexpensive?

Here are my specs:

I am not too good with computers, but here are my specs, I think :
Dell Optiplex 755
Processor: Intel? Pentium? Dual CPU E2200 @ 2.20GHz
RAM: 2.00 GB
System Type 32-bit Operating System
Operating System: Windows Vista
Video card. Radeon X1300XT/X1600Pro/X1650 Series

Thank you in advance.

FRAPS shows the directory it records to in the Movies tab. Default is C:\Fraps\Movies.

Otherwise http://dxtory.com/v2-home-en.html is a possibility.
