Three Things gamesas

Firstly, I want to thank you for including many of my ideas in the dlc for Skyrim, I was fairly disappointed when the main game came out and just like oblivion did not add much in the way of content, the doorway room for instance was one of my best ideas and I was pleasantly surprised to find it in Dawnguard. I still hope to find more use for the calendar in a future release.

Secondly, Elder Scrolls 6, I hope you guys are thinking about it now and possibly even working on it, take the 4 years you need to complete it in its majesty, but start now. I hope to see many improvements.

Third and last... Elder Scrolls Online... I truly hope this is just a side project and not a serious attempt at a game, Elder Scrolls has always been a solo game and for good reason imho, but do as you will... I think multiplayer is a mistake though.

Your first point is open for debate your other two point i do agree
However i am afraid they will be going for the quick money and most of their rescources going into the TES O project what will only as far we know from what they have released will be another candy coated themepark WoW clone
Tho adding a LAN multi player option opens up some possibilities

ESO might be a WoW clone, but it's not being developed by Bethesda Game Studios. It would be my guess that, right now, all of BGS's efforts are going in to FO4.

Got a feeling that ESO will fail, but it's worth a try imo.

You're definitely not alone in this thinking. Many old-timers to the series, like me, feel the same way. Personally, I have no use for the mindless mess of MMO play. Really, it becomes less of a RPG and more of an RTS. The only difference being that you have one unit, your PC, and you must grind resources into skills as quickly as possible because "everybody else" is doing exactly that, and many of them are out to gank less than optimally developed players. Every one I have tried, all of the players therein, they're all exactly the same, like the DnD dweeb who rolls up his PC with maximum damage as the primary focus every single time. Not for me, and never will be. WHY did Skyrim sell so huge out the door? THIS is why. Like it or not, and certainly there are tons of complainers, Skyrim is inarguably the best and purest solo-play RPG amongst its peers. ESO may succeed or fail on its coat-tails, but it has no bearing on Skyrim's success. I'm kind of hoping it does flop, just so the devs can focus back solely on the SP TES world.

If BGS is banking on TES fans flocking to ESO, I think they might have made a bad bet. Forums aside, the sheer success of Skyrim, the continued popularity and play time, all point to people who WANT the SP experience over the MP experience.

If I could find a reliable group of AD&D players, I might just go back to PnP with 6-8 people. But MMOs are absolutely NOTHING like a PnP RPG "party" of adventurers. In the absence of PnP folk to play with, SP suits me just fine, and I'm sure I'm not alone in that thinking.

No, they have their own set of developers and are located about an hour away from Rockville. AFAIK, the only involvement that Bethesda has with them is helping them keep the lore straight. There's probably only one or two BGS people doing that, likely part time.

The only real link they have is the fact that they're owned by Zenimax, the same as Arkane, id, MachineGames and some others. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zenimax wikipedia's Zenimax page if you want the breakdown.

The Elder Scrolls Online is not being developed by Bethesda Softworks. It is being developed by Zenimax Online. The two teams do not overlap.

I used to play MMORPG's and for a time was quite into them. There comes a time, however, that all the work one does is ultimately foiled by griefing and a precise battle to max-out and laugh at others who aren't at your level of playing expertise and/or gear. Don't get me wrong-in concept ESO looks intriguing to a point. However, I agree that single player is what I enjoy and for this reason won't be trying ESO. I remember when I heard about the Star Wars MMO I was drooling and couldn't wait to play a Sith. Did I play? Nope. No interest. I've moved from MMORPG's and have no intent on returning. I do miss the AD&D days though. Nothing beats imagination and ingenuity with creating a party and leading them through an unscripted adventure.
