The Nightengales....refresh my memory please

Post » Fri Aug 24, 2012 1:24 am

Picked up with old char and ran into Erinthir and Karliah. Now I am in that quest where you hunt down Mercer Frey, but I don't recall what the Nightengales do.

Can anyone give me a few details to jump start my memory? Did you enjoy the Nightengale related quests?

Thanks

The Nightingales are a trio who are sort of Nocturnal's paladins. They are vowed to saveguard both her temple and the Skeleton Key in both life and death.

Did you enjoy the Nightengale related quests?
Honestly? No. The entire thieves' guild quest line is a mess and contains of the (if not the) worst writing in the game.
Though I will admit that the Nightingale armour's ninja-appearance appealed to my inner 12 year old.

I didn't dislike the NG quests, but agree they could have been a lot better. There really is no back story and where is all the loot Mercer stole from the TG vault?
FInding all that stuf could be a it's own quest line.

I've just completed this yestarday

Nightingales are the secret branch of the thieves guild, not even the TG members know if they are real or not. If you are asked to join, you have to swear that even after death you will protect the Twilight Sepulcher.

I thought the TG/NG quest line was interesting, but not as memorable as the past two games with Gentleman Jim Stacey & the Gray Fox, still Devlin, Brynyolf, Vex & Karliah were cool. I enjoyed the side quests to bring the guild back to strength & i loved the shadowmarks, looking for them & being one of a few who knows what they mean is cool. Hunting down Mercer was fun.
