ESO! Do you think it could go on Xbox 360 consoles?

Hello there.

I'm new to the Elder scrolls forum, but I was wondering if anyone thinks that Zenimas and Bethesda might be willing to bring Elder Scrolls: Online to the Xbox 360 or the new consoles when it comes out. Each console has bigger hard drives and you can do a lot more than you could have a long time ago. I remmeber when Sony brought Final Fantasy XI to Xbox and the PS3. It was the first time I was able to experience an MMO on a console. I think it would be awesome of Bethesda and Zenimax would be willing to do this. It would open up their world of fan base even more on the console groups.

I'm also wondering how much of an endeavor this would be on the technical teams.

There's a topic about this, check it out: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1398219-the-elder-scrolls-online-on-all-platforms/

Many opinions, most state that current gen just wouldn't be able to pull it off.

Nope.
And why would they release a big mmo for xbox 360 when the console is so old? If they are going to release TES:O to consoles i believe waiting until next console generation should be better. I mean a mmo is a game that should last for years :3 not so smart to release it for xbox.

As an xbox360 user, this is also my sentiment. It's not a good time to put a long-term online project on a console nearing the end of its life cycle.

People like you two bring a smile to my face. Not all console players are completely misguided. ^^

Misguided implies guidance. Ignorance about the current consoles limitations and life cycle is probably more accurate. They just never had the information presented to them in a way they cared to remember. I would not expect most gamers to care enough to know the details anyways. They just want to play the games.

I would say most console players are at least marginally informed about the consoles limitations this late in their life cycle.

A little achingly well-informed, as it happens. People around here don't pull their punches. I mean let's be honest, the 360 has been out for only a bit longer than TESO has been in development, if I count right. Love playing on it, but I think the next run of big releases of which I feel Skyrim is the harbinger is probably it's last big glory moment before resources start going to the next set in earnest.

MS had a ten year plan for the 360, so the next console is coming in less than 2 years. Which is just enough time for them to work on porting it over.

That really doesn't mean there couldn't be one. The start of the next console generation would be the ideal time for such an MMO to arise. If they split development to allow for controller and keyboard support it might work. We also have no idea how the controllers in the next generation will perform.
