Skyrim landmarks: Arena to now

Post » Mon Aug 27, 2012 10:17 pm

I was looking at an Arena era map of Tamriel and noticed that a lot of places in Skyrim were there in TES1 and for the old timers, I was wondering how much they've changed since the old days: Labyrinthian, the various cities, do they bare any resemblance to their former selves? Obviously the graphics are a little different, but as far as layout etc, anything similar? I read somewhere that the mage's guild was north of winterhold back then as it is now, what about things like Jorvaskr and the thieves guild?

Truth.

The random dungeons were very basic stuff. Course monsters were sprites. We did have Nymphs though.

The dungeons were actually a lot more complexed in Daggerfall. You could write on the map (I miss that). You did often fall through the 'cracks' and would have to reload. The cities were a lot more crowded with random NPC's.

Yep, if only we could get the balance right between stunning graphics and great ground breaking gameplay...writing on your map? awesome, that adds so much in regards to RP.
