Post » Tue Aug 28, 2012 9:54 pm

I have just watched the hearthfire trailer and liked what i see.I know some are disappointed but i am happy. But that's not the topic of the post. The topic is,how many houses will you be allowed to build?1...2...3 or more?

I also want to ask, where will you build your house?

That would be cool, winterhold could use a new structure.I would happily live in Falkreath.

not sounding good. I seriously think I may hold back from bothering to buy this. I am the Dovahkiin and not some recluse who lives out hidden an overgrown shack out in the wilderness. I am friends of royalty and fame and recognition.

I find having more than one house kind of pain. I always forget where I put stuff. Most of my characters now only use one house, even if I acquire others for quest related purposes.

One house, I think...

I'll buy the DLC, but I prefer to keep my own-made Dawnstar house :) But I hope to add something new to it with that resource.

Upgradable farms sound good to me, start of with a crop field and a cabin hut, then after all the upgrade you have a windmill sawmill watermill and fields and animals where u sell what u make and hire farmer and merchants to sell to towns,

Acutally on the Bethesda website it says you can "purchase mulitple plots and start building a real-estate empire"

Im hoping that means there will be different home types available.

Then live in Proudspire Manor if it bothers you so much. Not everyone plays the uber-famous Dragonborn who has the wealth of nations and the social life of a king.

? Choose Your Land - Choose from property in the salt marshes of Hjaalmarch, the forests of Falkreath, or the vast tundra of The Pale. For the more ambitious landowner, purchase multiple plots and start building a real estate empire.

Nice :) Now, all that is needed is something I wanted since my Oblivion days: a mod that allows you to build/purchase a house, then rent your property to someone for profit (with a detailed rented-owner relationship, including the possibility of them leaving, or becoming squatters, if you treat them badly, don't upgrade their house, or you're abusive with the price, and having to slay them and recover what you own :D).

I swear that if no mod is released soon about that, I'll learn scripting and make it myself :P

That doesn't actually mean there's only one plot available in each of those regions, though. Just that those are the regions in which we'll be able to build.

There could be multiple plots in each region, for all we know...

I own Proudspire Manor but to be honest I have my wife living in Markarth most the time. My Whiterun house I tend to use as my smithing house as it conveniently has a smithery next door and shops to sell armor and weapons in front and either side :)

I was hoping to be able to rebuild Winterhold back into a thriving city and have my own castle there overlooking the mages guild.
That would have been impressive for me

I have other characters who don't play such significant roles. There are already plenty of houses or castles in the wilderness for them to take over.

It won't be anywhere, there will be some system of plots used. But as I said, we do not know just how restricted it will be.

Maybe there will only be three plots total, or maybe there will be three or four different areas in each region where you can build. I'm imagining there will be at least one in Winterhold (which is part of the same tundra as the Pale, after all), since the other three lesser holds are specifically mentioned.

I would make one big main house then just small cabins for rest dotted across the holds.

Oh :( Then you cant have your own unique place to have your house where anyone doesnt have a house. But is this conifirmed? What if you can place it anywhere in these holds :3
