Training our children to fight

Post » Wed Aug 29, 2012 1:47 am

If we can adopt children we should be able to train them. I intend on still playing skyrim every now and then in 4-5 years time and by then the kids should be able to fight with us.
Let me improve his/her one handed, smithing, destruction etc.
The kids must be about 12,13,14. Well they are not far off fighting age.
Is it too ambitious to expect a €5 DLC to build a skill tree for followers, add ageing and add child-parent dialog. Anyway it would be good but it's not something I expect.

what if our children are misbehaving, are they going to let the consoles be able to discipline them with a sword?

Legal age of maturity in Skyrim is 16 so if a child is going to be able to defend him/herself adequately as an advlt then starting their training at least a couple years prior to that is probably a good thing. Taking them along on adventures as combat buddies, not so much IMO.

I don't like using followers with all the glitches and bugs as it is... why the hell would I want a kid?

Because kids cannot die. They are the ultimate meat shields. Bring on the child followers!

This seems reason enough to have an army of children.

Really not keen on Skyrim: The Sims. Though.

They won't be allowed to sell it if they make child soldiers.

Not probably in DLC. But we'll see how far mods can do...maybe UFO will have some Hearthfire addon that'd allow that.

I would be all for having your children become "stewards" of a sort. Lets say you could train them to heal, so they follow you around and heal. Maybe you train them to shoot a bow, so now they act like your sniper. Train them to use a dagger and he'll be your varmint killer. Train him to be a little pickpocket, or to act sweet and adorable as a distraction so you can pickpockets. Or maybe he'll just follow you around and carry some things, provided with a "Hey, go grab those things." dialog so he just wanders out when the coast is clear and loots your kills for you.

A simple singular function for the kids would be great.

But wait a minute....what if your a dedicated Vampire Lord? Can you make them into tiny vampires too? (lol...creepy)
