Dont Knock down Hearthfire...

Post » Wed Aug 29, 2012 9:01 am

So as we are all probably aware by now, Hearthfire is an add-on that gives the rather minor additions of adoption and house construction. It is relatively cheap, obviously wont be a major new requirement for modding on the PC, and may just serve as a new outlet for your gold stocks, and a more ideal place to complete your crafting chores.

We are being rather harsh with Bethesda. They did claim that there would be fewer expansions to the game, and (more or less) small stuff would be given for free, and they have followed up on that promise so far.
The house building may have warranted enough work to charge for it, but it also serves one key role for anyone not on the X-Box 360. It will fulfill the terms of their contract with Microsoft on a rather minor note. Leaving the later (and hopefully more satisfying) add-on's to be released for everyone at once.

What if this is an attempt to punish us now to please us later?

No.. Harsh on Bethesda is the only way they will listen.. If we just don't criticize then nothing may be fixed.. Criticizing a DLC/game is quite good for the developer if they only use it as a positive.. They could read what we hate and then fix it in another game..

AGREED!!!!!!!

A whole bunch of us asked for these very two things...

1. The ability to build our own house.
2.The ability to adopt kids.

Bethesda listened to us.

I doubt M$ will let them off the hook for the DLC contract for something so piddly as this.

what about all thes BUGS that are still in the game since day 1? Like the Thieves Guild Hood not showing up on vampires or the Dark Brotherhood mask not showing up on males? I just wish they would resolve issues first and dlc second.

I'm curious what game-breaking bug is lurking in Hearthfire.

I'm quite happy we're getting a mix of major and minor DLCs. It's rather nice.

I am really looking forward to having my own actual house. It brings us one step closer to being able to legally have mods on the xbox. Of course if it would've been a castle or even a small city I would've been happier but it's good still.

While I'm sure there will be at least one there are still game breaking bugs from release that have never been addressed.

I doubt MS even know the difference between Dawnguard and Hearthfire.

It seems people are more upset because many people, especially here, were hyping it to be some big expansion involving magic. Guess I have found out why people are disappointed now. Self hype is not healthy. Bethesda just silently walked past the hype that was being made by not them.
