This leaves an interesting question, when you get enough runes do you visit The Outsider in The Void? Maybe you get them and get to try them out? Maybe not but there is room for argument. After all we get to talk to him if we find his shrines as well which I assume are in the mission levels and not The Void, could be wrong on that one though.

But think about it, Corvo having to visit The Void every time he gets an ability or even after every mission for plot anolysis. Like seeing Jessamine's body on the floor, remnants of things he regrets, questioning whether he is on a path of judgement or self-destruction. Those are some pretty heavy themes and I can't say that I am not interested in what The Void plays in all this.
