Unable to even open up and play Skyrim : V

So I'm relatively new to PC gaming (I barely know a fraction of all the half complicated mumbo jumbo!) and I'm not exactly sure what's happening. I'll try and describe it as best as possible:

Essentially, I click play on steam and it loads up what I presume is called the start up menu fine. However, when I click "Play" (This is before I verified the files on steam) it never loaded and instead of the oh-so wonderful theme tune of Skyrim, I was greeted by nothing more than hundreds of error messages.

I verified the files and it worked fine as far as I can tell, but for whatever reason when i click "Play" it just doesn't load anything at all. It just freezes and restarts my computer after five minutes of apparent "loading"

If anyone could give me some instructions on what to do, I'd appreciate it!

(FYI, the PC's specs are some of the best, so it's (hopefully) nothing to do with not meeting requirements.

Please post a full dxdiag in a spoiler tag. Also, please give us the error messages. Also also, disable auto restart in the system settings. Where the system settings are varies by your OS. If you then get a blue screen when you try to play, please supply the details it displays.

I couldn't read them all, some just had no text at all.

A couple I did see said "A required .DLL file EKC3220.DLL was not found" "Out of memory in_setargvo" and "EKAG20NT"

Like I said, I have no idea what that means, but I stopped getting errors when I verified the files.
