Skyrim's seemingly backwards vampirism.

I know this has been discussed before but I'm wanting to get back into Skyrim and continue my character (dead-is-dead character, level 40) who had recently become a vampire.

My question is, what are the advantages of feeding in the game? It really breaks the immersion for me when feeding reduces your powers. It seems to me that as a vampire the game should almost force you to feed. What incentives to I have to feed as a vampire? Also, the eyes are killing me and also immersion-breaking. Does no one notice that I have bright yellow eyes? Shouldn't that tip someone off that perhaps I'm a blood svcker. The more I think about it, the more being a werewolf appeals to me. I may have to go that route unless someone can convince me why vampires are worthwhile in Skyrim. I guess I just don't get it which is kind of disappointing.

growing skinny and more vulnerable to the sun when you don't feed makes sense, but getting strong vamp powers when your starving never made sense to me. since Vanilla skyrim's Vamp system is essentially the same from Oblivion (morrowinds system is dismissible imo) there really isn't much of a point.

I wish they did what MM did with his mod, that you get stronger over time and as you feed.

Dawnguard changes somethings and makes it so you get stronger as you use your powers and feed, so if you want something a tad different go for it if you haven't already.

I have Dawnguard, but you still become weaker when you feed. It just doesn't make sense to me and kind of defeats the purpose.

It is odd, but at least they tried to be a bit different.

The reduction of your powers when you feed feels off. I understand getting more monstrous looking the less you feed. You should also get weaker the less you feed and more powerful the more you feed. The ideology behind this design decision just makes no sense to me what so ever.

I completely agree and that's why I'm going to go the werewolf route I think. I just can't get past the fact that a) its actually more beneficial NOT to feed as a vampire and B) no one notices the fact that you have BRIGHT YELLOW EYES.

Yes, it is odd. Especially now when a stage 4 blood starved vampire isn't recognised as
as such by the public anymore. It makes no sense, there are only the sunlight and the
increased weakness to fire to worry about, but I'll gladly have that in exchange of the increased
vampiric powers I gain.

Well... I'm on PC, so I can just mod the bloody thing. (pun intended)

I chose vampire because I made a vampire in Oblivion and carried him over into Skyrim. I have always liked vampires better its a personal preference really but the vampire thing seems off. I feed to roleplay but that is really it. With Dawnguard I can talk to everybody like normal as a level four vampire. That is ridiculous but I must say the vampire lords are great and they are really fun to play as.

The glowing eyes are over the top yes, maybe their eyes could glow in the dark or something, but all the time is a bit much.
