how difficult would a seperate slider for weight and height

Post » Thu Aug 30, 2012 9:43 am

Just wondering for customization sake, What if someone wanted a short bulky character or a tall skinny one. Currently it goes like short/skinny to tall/muscular. I'm wondering if it would be difficult to implement something like that. Maybe also make the height slide go slightly higher and lower than it currently does. That way you could make large monstrous orcs and turn a nord or a breton into a dwarf if you made them short and stalky enough.

Only thing I could think it would really interfere with would be the kill cams, if you were too fat and short your limbs may look weird and going through each other.

No clue how difficult that would be.

It would be very difficult mind you.

In all seriousness though, it should be added.

Would probably conflict with the armor system.

Height would be difficult. For one, you may have problems going through some entrances or be unable to. Look up the mod for turning into a dragon. When the character turns into one, it is hard to enter some things like Riverwood's front wall entrance. Ever noticed how being in werewolf form meant you couldn't go through an entire cave?

Height could cause some chaos considering how this game is designed.

I wonder what armor system they used in Dragon Age Origins, gear was basically interchangeable between characters of varying sizes and gender it was awesome.

Well I wasn't considering it being a huge increase in height, just enough so whatever race you pick could be taller than those annoying high elves. Not werewolf or vamp lord size.

I for not think height would be very hard but weight is slightly more difficult.
They would also have to adjust the armours and clothes but ad is there would be clipping issues.
I wish they would add it but for anything more drastic than what's in the game there would be clipping issues.

that's what I had thought as well, the armor is set to a specific size, not like it's something that's pasted on form fitting.

Not really. They make the armor look different from male to female, why can't they adjust the armor look based on whatever you put in the weight slider?

if they did it there would have to be limits on how tall certain races can be; high elves will always be the tallest or at least as tall as nords and bosmer are the shortest.

There is simply a male and a female version of the armor. The armor doesn't morph to fit a gender.

More difficult than you think, since every NPC would be shaped differently, and that seems like it would be a strain on the game to make everyone look so much different like that
