Hey,

I just purchased Skyrim via Steam. Installed it along with Dawnguard.

I cannot get past the intro scene due to the dialogue not being played/triggered.

I've tried a savegame from after the intro (at the character creation step) but there are no dialogues there either.

Because of this I cannot play the game as the quest line is dependent on the dialogue being played/triggered.

I've tried the following things (restarts in between):

• Reinstalled the game
  
• Reinstalled all the dependencies (directx, dotnetfx and VCredist)
  
• I use Razer Megalodon normally but there is no possibillity to use any other format than 48000hz, so I tried with the my built in audio card (Asus onboard SoundMax) and set the Default format to 16 bit 44100 Hz.
  
• Removed Nvidia audio drivers (basically removes the gpu audio passthrough capability for HDMI)
  
• Removed all audio devices and tried without audio
  
• Updated chipset, audio and graphics drivers
  
• Have tried different video settings, windowed mode, lowest quality etc.
  
• Removed dawngaurd and highres texture packs

Any suggestions?

PS I've played it before using a friends DVD install and it worked fine but that was a while ago. Recent patch/es might have screwed things up?

6GB dominator 1600mhz ram
Asus TOP DC2 Geforce 560 ti
Razer Megalodon
Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 build 7601 with the latest patches
