Just seen an annoucement from yesterday on IGN website stating that Dawnguard and other DLC may never come to PS3

This comes two days after they release a trailer for the new DLC, which again we may never get.

I'm trying to contain my frustration right now

Skyrim should have never been released on PS3. It's clear Bethesda simply cannot work out how to make a game for it properly.

Instead though, they were more than happy to give us a broken game in exchange for our hard earned money. It's gonna be a long time before I ever trust in Bethesda, and longer still before I buy another product from them; they can keep their DLC.

Pre-release hype for Skyrim said that DLC was planned for all platforms with 360 merely receiving it first, Tweet Hines and GStaff also publically stated on Tuesday when Hearthfire was announced that PS3 was definitely part of the DLC plans.

Moderators, before you lock this thread please ask GStaff to come here, not the Dawnguard forum but here and answer to the PS3 community. Posting a locked sticky saying "no DLC for PS3" isn't really good enough, we'd like a chance of a two way discussion on this and to see what GStaff's thoughts are on a comment he made on the blog less than 48 hours prior to this announcement categorically stating that the PS3 would still be receiving DLC.

I'm utterly disgusted at Beth at the moment, if they want to play with the big boys and release games on the superior machine then they need to get their %$&* together

i loved the fallout games they made even with the bugs. but now i will not be supporting this company. i never thought i would say this but bethesda have gone on my list of worst gaming companies. yes they make great games but in this case it really gives them a bad name, not to mention the fact they just kept it in the dark. it will take a really great DLC or game to bring them of that list, although i doubt any will even get to PS3...

Well that'll teach them for making lazy ports of games instead of a fully optimised version specific to the target platform.

While I have no interest in defending Beth and their inept handling of all things PS3, it's only fair to point out the above. Plans change and the DLC was not built during the 'pre-release hype'.

Also, expect DG to release but expect it to be badly broken and nothing more than a last minute 'Cash Grab'. <- This is what I expect from probably the most deceptive developer in the industry.

But to say less than 48 hours before this announcement that it was still part of the plans? The decision to abandon future support of the platform isn't a snap one, this has been in discussion for weeks, possibly even before Dawnguard released on 360. It's fair to say that last August when Bethesda revealed their DLC plans and exclusivity that PS3 was definitely intended to be part of that after the exclusivity, but when Tweet Hines claimed on Twitter less than three days ago that Dawnguard was still coming to PS3 he was lying, there's no two ways about that one.

I don't expect Dawnguard to come out at all at this rate. This announcement looks to me like a ploy to piss off the entire PS3 community and let them vent their spleens at Bethesda now, so that when they finally grow a pair and officially announce that the PS3 DLCs are cancelled they can point back and claim to have posted updates on a decision that was made months before.

The only conclusion that one can come to is that they were using the PS3 users as a cash cow to fund the developments for their microsoft love affair

Thanks Murt. I didnt really care about dawnguard since vanilla is still broken, but at least you stumbled upon that in the Dawnguard forums to let us know. Looks like Gstaff really doesnt care for putting 1 and 1 together and placing the post on this forum. Anyways, does this also mean we get no more anti-patches wrapped in a neat package.

New vegas is unplayable on the PS3 with the DLC. Because Skyrim uses the same engine (with a few tweaks) it's no surprise Skyrim does not work on the PS3. Skyrim should have never been released on the PS3, period.
