Firewood... should burn

Post » Sat Sep 01, 2012 1:10 am

A nice little thing that could be added., would be the ability to set firewood on fire. I mean it should burn for mabey 2 in game hours depending on how many logs are next to it.

yeah, having it set on fire like those oil spills on the floors in dungeons would be cool. Burn for a couple of hours then go out, in a somewhat corny sidenote, if you have a tent like in those old Final Fantasy games that you could set up in the wild and make a little campfire would be awesome lol.

Lot's of things should burn in the game that don't, for example Alduin can destroy stone walls and fortifications in Helgen yet Ancient dragons can't destroy little log houses in Falkreath ? I'm glad they can't though as there wouldn't be any cities left in my original game if the environments had been destructible.

It would be nice as well as burning books would be. I also would like to see them to allow us to set in fire flamable oil on the ground with torches - it's annoying you have to use magic or shout or trap to do it.

That is weird considering you can set enemies on fire using torches.

Yes it is. But I'm glad that the fire you set on enemies with a torch now hurts them - before some patches it was glitched and caused no damage.

Also what's with the differing time in how long a torch burns ? Sometimes they last for ages other times they go out really quickly. It must have been far easier to simply make them all burn for say 570 seconds or something like that.

I think it depends what torch you pickup. If you pick up a lit one at the end of a dungeon, it's been burning for a while the whole you were down there in relation if you had picked up one in the beginning of the dungeon.

and just like in real life, not all torches are made equal. when I make one, typically it's a safe bet the fire department is going to pay me a visit.

I'm bore confused by the fact that the fire hurts doesn't apply for every fire source. Firewood should be used for what it is named for, as well. I'd love for more fire sources to just do something.
