pre order dlcs switchable ?

Post » Tue Sep 04, 2012 9:12 am

hi ho

i pre orderd the game a while ago and cant wait to play it :3 ... looks like supernatural thief

i ask myself am i able to switch the pre order dlc on / off ? ...because they feel kinda like cheating to me

sure ill try them out + buy the missing ones when they become available in a "special dlc pack" ... but overall i want to play and finish the the game with original balancing  .. so it would be awesome if you could switch them on / off

(+ special gamerscore if you finish the game without using stuff offerd in these dlcs would be nice ... (because finishing the game without damage bonus / noise reduction and stuff ... should be rewarded somehow ;) )

The pre order bonus appear as items (statues) in the HUB. You have to click on them to use them so it's up to you.

You can switch them on or off from the game itself.

It's not really cheating because they are just small bonuses and some lore books so they don't really ruin the gameplay or the original intended balance.

There might be a "Special DLC Pack" at least I would suggest you don't think that because the future of the game is not certain in terms of bonus content.

iam sure there will be a "special dlc package" .. look at fallout for example

gamers are able to buy the pre order bonuses as "special dlc" .. sure it will take a year till they are in store 4 everyone but it will be available

+ like i said before ... gamerscore to show you finished the game without that stuff would be awesome ... noise reduction for example doesnt sound like a small bonus 4 me  ... even if its just 1 yard ...
look @ the dlcs .. buyable cheats

------

k awesome ... as long iam able to switch stuff off iam kinda alright

There was a Special Package DLC for Fallout because it sold, Dishonored might not sell as good and it might not get the same deals.

We don't know if there will be a scoring system and how it will work or display your progress. The noise reduction is only for breaking mirrors so yes it is a small bonus. They aren't buyable cheats because cheats completely remove the progression curve and these pre-order DLC barely affect gameplay.

i think in the dlc question we got 2 different sides  ... i think some of these dlc bonuses are kinda game breaking .. you think they are small enough ... EPIC FORUM BATTLE OF HISTORY xD
lets settle this draw

all i really want is gamerscore to show i bet the game without these gimmik cheats  cause 4 me they are kinda game breaking  ... even if ill use them 4 fun

Wow, and why are they game breaking exactly? We don't know how many things 500 Coin can get you in-game and the bone charms are confirmed to be small bonuses, that's their role in the game. Some might be more valuable than others to you but they really aren't game breaking especially when they are intended to be in the game as a small passive boost to your performance.

I don't know for sure but I highly doubt there will be an achievement for not using the DLC bone charms. There may be one for not using any bone charms whatsoever, but probably not the DLC ones specifically. As for them being "cheats" well I'll have to disagree with that. You can break glass quieter bone charm, well I don't really see how thats a big deal. But anyway you can choose not to use them, you can also choose not to use the extra whale bone charm slot, and you can choose not to use the 500 coins. You most likely won't be rewarded for not using them but at least you have the option.

There is no achievement for not using Bone Charms. There is only one for not using any ability besides Blink (because you get it for free).

I thought so. But as you probably know I haven't taken a look at the full list. I'm not surprised either seeing as how it doesn't sound hard to beat the game by going without the bone charms.

I will personally do a barebones playthrough. Only by moving and nothing else. Harvey assured me that it is possible.

I might do one without any whale bone charms, I don't think I'm skilled enough to play without any abilities though.
