the "darkness" that you see shroud the sun after using Auriel's Bow in conjunction with the Blood-cursed arrows isn't actual "darkness" in the traditional sense. instead, I strongly believe that it is in fact, a portal into Coldharbour. the things supporting this idea that I've compiled thus far are:
- first and foremost, and the most compelling reason: it's relation to ESO's plot line. this theory strongly lends itself to known information that we possess of the "Dark Anchors" and how they will be used to "pull Tamriel into Coldharbour". we've also been told of how these will seemingly originate from the sky.
- it's appearance: http://i49.tinypic.com/2e6aa95.jpg. not only does it strongly share the likeness for gateways to other realms in the past we've visited (Oblivion and Aetherius, the former moreso.), but if viewed closely you can clearly see a "landmass" of sorts moving around independently within this portal. these are not simply the clouds above Skyrim.
- the similar settings of both Skyrim and ESO (at a time when the Dragonfires are absent and turmoil engulfs the nation.)
- the nature of the sun itself, which in TES lore, isn't actually a "sun" but a hole into Aetherius left behind by the Aedra after they fled Mundus. this itself could be a proposed entrance into Aetherius, and if a quote from Gelebor can be interpreted more deeply ("it can be used to corrupt it's purpose"), then perhaps the same can also be done with the sun, for which Molag Bal could have possibly "transformed" into a gateway into his plane of Oblivion?
- the lack (as far as we've heard) of a viable vampire option in the game. perhaps this is because it would contradict the player character, who is suppose to be attempting to thwart the invasion, and the vampires themselves are involved in the whole scheme?
- lastly, the abundance of Gargoyles and Death Hounds after using the bow's alternate power. both of these creatures are obviously not native to Nirn, and the frequency of encountering them increases greatly after using Auriel's Bow. these are more than likely beings from Molag Bal's realm.
so...thoughts?
