Is it worth upgrading cpu and ram just for skyrim?

Just wondering i have pretty beefy machine as is.

I7 920 2.66ghz cpu
gtx 580
6g ddr3 ram
Windows 7 64bit

I was thinking of getting new mother board and upgrading to 8g's of ram along with new cpu with alot higher clock speed.

I already tried over clocking gpu so im pretty sure to get better fps i need to upgrade my speed is very low for cpu.

Skyrim is a 32-bit application, so the most RAM it can make use of is around 3GB or so.

I have played with 8GB and 16GB and did not notice any difference at all, even with other applications running in the background, such as the Creation Kit, Google Chrome, etc.

As for your specs, they seem quite powerful enough, certainly you should be able to run the game smoothly at 1080p.
