Playing as a Thief . . .

Post » Wed Sep 05, 2012 8:55 am

I've been playing TES games since Morrowind, and with every release, playing the stealthy character has always been my preference.

I loved making the Ghostfence run in Morrowind, and robbing the Great Houses. I loved ransacking the castles and wealthy houses in Oblivion, and the stores.

What I'm looking for from you all is . . .

How do you make playing the thief interesting in Skyrim? As far as I can figure, there's really nothing that difficult to rob, and there's nothing worth taking once you get into a place. The radiant Thieves Guild quests are pretty much a joke, never anything challenging.

So how do you guys do it?

I just started a new character today. Up to level 7 so far, and breaking into basically anywhere is already a joke. I've been roleplaying, not actually stealing everything in a house, only taking what a character could feasibly carry. Maybe I need to do something more to make it interesting.

Help me out here . . .

That's why you never hear anyone carrying on about "The Great Thief..."

There was a great theif in Tamriel once.

They called him the Grey Fox.

He stuck it to the man.

Stole from the rich, gave to the poor.

So start putting your profits into beggars with the mission to make them affluent.

Fine clothes, the lot.

Good luck.

There allways a risk picking pockets and deal with the consquences.

If you get caught take the go to jail option.
