Enchanting Normal Clothing! I just realized this.

I just realized something! You can enchant Normal, mundane clothing! I always wondered why Clothing stores sold un-enchanted, mundane clothing (hoods, robes, gloves, boots, shoes, rings, amulets, etc).

It's because with Enchanting, you can enchant them! If you don't use Soul Trap you may obtain Filled Soul Gems from Court WIzards. If you have learned the enchantment, you can put it ON clothing! Plus if your Enchanting level is high enough, the enchantment you place on a normal item of clothing can be stronger than something you can find out in the world. That is so awesome! I always played a warrior/thief type before. I didn't want to use enchanting cause it would mean learning Conjuration.

Then I learned that Court Wizards sell filled soul gems. Meaning, even though they're pricey, you can still get them. (Potentially VERY pricey).

I know I sound excited, but I've played this game a lot before, Like I said, always before I was a warrior/thief type. Then I realized, you can buy soul gems, Then I remembered that Clothing stores sell normal clothing.

Normal, un-enchanted clothing + (enchantment + soul gem) = Enchanted clothing.

Glad you discovered what everybody else already knows.

I guess there are some simple things people are still finding out hundreds of hours in.

I hadn't discovered it before because I've always used Heavy and Light armor. A Warrior type or thief type. I've played both at least 3 or 4 times. Each.

I decided to switch it up. I figured it'd be nice to have clothing with enchantments on them. Plus, Enchantment with the right Perks gained makes the player's enchantments stronger. Then I realized it's possible to buy filled soul gems. That's when I remembered the random clothing that can be found out in the world or bought. That's why I discovered it just now.

It may be simple to him, but not to everyone. It's only a "simple thing" because there are people who didn't get into being a magic-user right away. They decided to do other things. After trying out and playing one way, they decided to play as something else. To experience more of the game.

Like I discovered Transmute. Never had known about it before. It's an Adept Alteration spell. I can buy Iron ore. Transmute it into Silver ore and that Silver ore into Gold ore. Make gold bars, craft jewlry, and sell it.

I'm not going to respond to negative comments directed at me, but I was reminded of a thread where people talked about "obvious" things that people didn't know but then discovered, like how during loading screens you can rotate objects, or how someone recently posted that if you raise dead on some other necromancer's raised corpse, you take control of it.

Try playing all of the different types, you'll be surprised at what you'll find out. The game is a lot bigger then people make it out to be.

That's what I'm going to do. Before it was always Smithing iron daggers, selling iron daggers, leveling up smithing, etc. Now it's like there's this whole other dimension to Skyrim that wasn't there before.

I agree. The game IS a lot bigger than it seems at first. There's a whole world out there to explore. and a player can go about exploring and living in the world in different ways.

Good. You still have much things to explore, I envy you.
Try playing as mage, if you never before.
