Just finished another playthrough of Skyrim and whilst doing the routine looting, I kept thinking to myself "It'd be awesome if we could melt or break down the weapons and armour for crafting resources".
I don't know if this has already been suggested, but I personally think it would add that extra layer of depth, you can already break them for enchantments, so why not take them to a blacksmiths for resources? Maybe one or two ingots of each type used, a couple of leathers and a few strips. And it would be doable via patch.
