I don't do those exact things but yes I do do things similar to that, always have with video games.

Me too, actually. I can remember playing Vice City on the old PS2 and coming up with scenarios in my head once the game was over and there were no more missions. Never had more fun with the game than when I used my own imagination.

Another question, does anyone roleplay that their multiple characters are active in the world at the same time? I could see this being extremely difficult and would have to be planned ahead of time (my Dawnguard crusader wouldn't have much to do in a world where my other character slaughtered Isran and all his pals) but the idea has me intrigued. Maybe I'm just too bored.

The idea of a Dovakhiin, a DB assassin, a master thief with a heart of gold and a traveling merchant's stories all interconnect based on what you do in the game.
I haven't done it before, but I think it can be just as lore friendly as anything else. A big part of the argument of CoC not definitively being Sheogorath revolves around evidence that all quests are completed in terms of canon, but there's no evidence that they were by the same person - due to the fact that you have choices, and not everyone becomes guildmaster of everything.

I did make a mod in Fallout that made one of my previous characters a companion. But never thought of it in terms of RP.

Rock on man. I personally find it great to know that Skyrim isn't full of the "Ugh new player. That's not how you get the most gold in game!!!" kinda person.

I put a lot of thought into my characters, and I know how frustrating it is when every option you have is against every fiber of your character's being.

Edit: I still don't know if I could bring myself to get over what the game has already made me do. I would probably instead, go to the Bethesda forums and complain about how horrible the options are in Skyrim...

Half my characters never went to Helgen. My Dunmer called Dravin fled Morrowind when the red mountain exploded. He ended up in Skyrim studying Magic and the Dwemer. That led him to an ancient Magic, the Thu'um. No Helgen, not much of the Main quest.

 I probably just think a little too much about my character and his personality - where certain things that you have to do in the game just do not mesh with the character and it bothers you. Oh well, seems people are just as serious when it comes to the authenticity of the game. With 7 different characters though, I think a little creative freedom/imaginative improv. is warrnated to keep things fresh.

Otherwise I have 7 characters who all came into the world the same exact way and that's very boring, at least for someone like me.

That's sort of exactly my story! Awesome. My Dunmer was a bad dude though before he had to flee Morrowind, and now that he's in Skyrim and searching for a tether to immortality he's stumbled across a lot of old records on the Thu'um and users of the voice, and even managed to bend a few simple shouts to his will. I hate being recognized as the famed dragonborn on my renegade bastard.
