Companions you become attached to

We've all had that one companion that we've grown to love, and one day they catch themselves on the wrong end of your flailing sword and they leave. Usually, I get so sad I reload a save to keep them alive.

My most recent example is an Armoured Troll. Now, I now they aren't unique, but this particular one I've had for about 8 hours of gameplay. I had taken to calling him 'Tony the Troll' and we had a lot of adventures. We were crawling through a particular Nordic ruin when he accidentally steps on a pressure plate. The spiky gate was too fast for him... RIP Tony the Troll.

What are some of your examples?

Erandur. He's the companion with the most depth in the game imo.

Iona, my Riften Housecarl. She is my most favorite, and has not died yet.

Marcurio, he's the only follower that any of my characters have married, only my assassin has gotten married. But I've reloaded alot after one of my followers has died. My Battlemage may have to go after the Wabajack simpley to keep Erik as his adventure buddy, he's dieing a little to much as of late. Either that or dismiss him.

Cicero, Serana, Farkas, and Erik the slayer, i haven't really used too many others. And i do love the armored troll from dawngaurd, probably my second favorite part about joining (first being the snazzy dwarven crossbow) i've only used one but i lost him to an ancient dragon attack

I've been thinking about taking one of the armoured dogs from the Dawnguard, but because they have unique names, I get scared they will die!

Lydia. I reload if she dies!
Also Erik the Slayer. He's such a likable guy, with a simple dream that I've given him the opportunity to realize.

Lydia, who one of my characters married. Farkas who none of married but one of them has had some flings haha, Uthgerd (though I use a face mod to make her more appealing) and Aela the Huntress

Before I used the UFO (ultimate follower overide) follower mod if one of them left, I would re-load. Now I set them to essential.
