We talk A LOT - in fact, ad nauseum - about DLC's and expansions.
It's all well and good, and there's been some thunderously great ideas.
However:
I think we need to take it as a given that any and all major DLC's or outright Expansions will either be within Skyrim or geographically quite close. The map is already ginormous and I would bet it's safe to rule out a new/reopened province as the setting for any Skyrim additions.
With this in mind, I think it's time we start discussing what and where TES6 will be.
The Shivering Isles is a rather obvious choice, since (to my knowledge) no TES game has ever explored that region.
I think the same can be said about Elsweyr and Black Marsh, but I'm not certain about it.
The thing is, they'll all be part of the same familiar Tamriel 'universe.' Which is why I suspect Bethesda will be more than just a little tempted to REALLY break open new ground: AKAVIR.
There's simply too many advantages. All the races would be new, except for a selection of the older races that might be chosen as a PC at some port city. Furthermore, there would be vastly more room to explore different histories, cultural mores and traditions, art, literature and perhaps even 'science' in the form of weapons, armor and magic.
Simply put, Akavir presents a potential canvas of shatteringly broad and diverse possibilities.
Anyone have any preferences, and if so, why?
I think we should take a few moments to give Bethesda some useful suggestions regarding where all of us might like to go in a TES 6.
